Challenger – Carte blanche to Simon Paccaud

The Ferme de la Chapelle invited Simon Paccaud to design a collective exhibition to which he brings 20 artists, photographers, graphic artists and designers.  His concept for the exhibition is accompanied by a phrase of Otl Aicher, a German  graphic artist who, in 1947 destroyed his works in a moment of doubt: “Art –  never again! The street is more important than the museum … creativity in technology is more important than creativity in the artist’s workshop.” In order to coherently link the works presented, he has constructed a metallic scenographic structure with Jean Angelats (Atelier J&J in Brussels) in the exhibition space which deconstructs and recreates the latter’s  architecture.  This giant hyphen binds together diverse styles and media reflecting Simon Paccaud’s reputation as an unclassifiable, unifying multidisciplinary artist, qualities which he assumes.
